One tool to prepare your hiking path:
The association publishes each year a brochure which gathers all the practical information to organise the hiking Stevenson trail on your own. You will find the contacts of accommodation, restaurants, donkey hire, transport of passengers and/or luggage, organisations which propose hiking packages and horseback riding, cultural sites, tourist offices…

Tools to hike:
In 1993, the French Hiking Federation signposted the Stevenson trail from Le Monastier-sur-Gazeille to Saint-Jean-du-Gard. It was baptised the GR 70 on the French hiking network. In order to make this historic trail more accessible, the Stevenson trail was later extended to Puy-en-Velay at the beginning and to Alès at the other end.
Teams of volunteers from the three Departmental Hiking Committees (Haute-Loire, Lozère, Gard) maintain the signposting all along the trail: a big thank you to them all!
The French federation also publishes a topographical guide, an essential tool for walkers, which can be complemented by the 1/25 000 scale IGN maps.
